Anna Anderson, DVM Dr. Anna Anderson has been at Ocean Isle Veterinary Hospital for over 9 years now, and is a graduate from Ross University of Veterinary medicine. She completed her veterinary clinical rotation at Auburn University, and her undergraduate studies in Biology and Animal Science at NC State.
Her hobbies include horseback riding, boating and enjoying the beach. She is married to Dean Anderson, DVM, has a beautiful son and daughter, and shares her home in Ocean Isle Beach with her three pets, Lexi, a terrier mix, Jetty, a boykin spaniel, and Chloe, a yellow lab. |
Benjamin Werle, DVM
Dr. Ben Werle is a graduate of The Ohio State university, completing his undergraduate studies at West Virginia University. Passionate for horses as well as small, companion animals, he had worked on a horse farm for many years since his youth. Hailing from Longs, SC, he and his wife, Margaux Werle, DVM, share a home with their three dogs, Bubba, a German Shorthaired Pointer, Birdy, an English Pointer, and Bonnie, a Westhighland White Terrier. In his free time, Dr. Werle enjoys going to the beach, fishing, reading, and spending time with his family.

Madeline MacFarlane, DVM
Dr. Maddy Macfarlane is a graduate from Oregon State University. She completed her undergraduate studies at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where she is originally from. She completed a year working at Duke University before vet school, and could not wait to come back to NC. In her free time, she loves to go to the beach, be out on the water, or escape to the countryside to ride horses. She lives with her two dogs, Mason, a chocolate lab mix, and Cali, a terrier mix.

Lauren
Lauren lives in Shallotte with her husband and four year old son Matthew, along with their dog Mabel, Gus, and cats Buddha and Baby Cat. She has been in the veterinary field since she was 16 years old and has been with the Ocean Isle Vet family for ten years. Lauren's free time includes enjoying playing with Matthew, softball, the salt life, and hanging out with friends.

Erica grew up in New Britain, Connecticut and moved to Brunswick County in order to enjoy the beach and warmer weather. She has two children, Elizabeth and Dominic, and is the proud owner of two cats, Richard Parker and Sophie. In her free time, Erica enjoys reading, painting, video games, and photography, while in pursuit of her Associates in Science and Arts.

She lives in Ocean Isle Beach with her two children Riley and Bentley; however she is a native of the Poconos in Pennsylvania. She shares her home with one cat, Mavis, as well as an American bulldog mix, Atlas. In her free time, she likes to going out at the beach, boating, and spending time with family and friends.

Heather, a West Virginia native, now resides in Sunset beach with her three dogs, Ava, Zeke, and Rocco, as well as her cats, Sir Lord Meow-Meow and Celia. With almost seven years of experience in the veterinary field, Heather's empathy and love for pets continues to grow. She spends her time with her family, caring for other's pets, and volunteering at animal shelters.

FaithA Shallotte native, Faith has been in the veterinary field for 17 years. She is the proud owner of three dogs, a German Short-Haired Pointer, a Cocker Spaniel, and a Great Dane, as well as fish and a cat. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, as well as going to the beach and traveling.

Originally from Ohio, Maddie moved our way to be closer to the beach and family; she has been a vacationer to our beaches since she was 6 months old, and grew a love for our area! She has been in veterinary medicine for almost a year and shares her home with one dog, Moose, and a cat named Milo. Her hobbies include reading, painting, hiking, and going to the beach.

Shelby is a Brunswick County native who has recently started pursuing a career in veterinary medicine because of her love and adoration for animals, starting at a very young age. She shares a home with her beloved husky Skye, and her puppy, Ellie, who are both rescues. Spending time with her family, going to the beach, hanging out with friends, and spending time with Skye are how she enjoys her free time.
