Anna Anderson, DVM
Dr. Anna Anderson has been at Ocean Isle Veterinary Hospital for over 6 years now, and is a graduate from Ross University of Veterinary medicine. She completed her veterinary clinical rotation at Auburn University, and her undergraduate studies in Biology and Animal Science at NC State. Dr. Anderson is not a stranger to the veterinary industry by any means. She stepped into her vocation over a decade ago when she worked as a veterinary technician, not to mention being a volunteer at the SPCA for four years as well. With her love of animals, people, and medicine, becoming a veterinarian was a natural fit.
Her hobbies include horseback riding, boating and enjoying the beach. She is married to Dean Anderson, DVM, has a beautiful daughter Aubrey, and shares her home in Ocean Isle Beach with her four pets, Lexi, a terrier mix, Jetty, a boykin spaniel, and Chloe, a yellow lab.

Ben Werle, DVM
Dr. Ben Werle is a graduate of The Ohio State university, completing his undergraduate studies at West Virginia University. Passionate for horses as well as small, companion animals, he had worked on a horse farm for many years since his youth. Hailing from Longs, SC, he and his wife, Margaux Werle, DVM, share a home with their three dogs, Bubba, a German Shorthaired Pointer, Birdy, an English Pointer, and Bonnie, a Westhighland White Terrier. In his free time, Dr. Werle enjoys going to the beach, fishing, reading, and spending time with his family.
Lauren
Lauren lives in Shallotte with her husband and four year old son Matthew, along with their dog Mabel, Gus, and cats Buddha and Baby Cat. She has been in the veterinary field since she was 16 years old and has been with the Ocean Isle Vet family for ten years. Lauren's free time includes enjoying playing with Matthew, softball, the salt life, and hanging out with friends.
Erica
Erica grew up in New Britain, Connecticut and moved to Brunswick County in order to enjoy the beach and warmer weather. She has two children, Elizabeth and Dominic, and is the proud owner of her senior cat, Casey. In her free time, Erica enjoys reading, painting, video games, and photography, while in pursuit of her Associates in Science and Arts.
Autumn
Autumn is originally from Hickory, North Carolina, and currently a local of Sunset Beach. She has three pets; a cat named Poptart, a lab mix named Kylo Ren, and a dachshund named Rocky. She is currently pursuing an Associate in Science. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, and taking long walks with her dogs.
Emilia
She lives in Ocean Isle Beach with her two children Riley and Bentley; however she is a native of the Poconos in Pennsylvania. She shares her home with two cats, Mavis and Fatty Patty, as well as an American bulldog mix, Atlas. In her free time, she likes to going out at the beach, boating, and spending time with family and friends.
Kara
She hails from Reidsville, North Carolina and now is a resident of Calabash. She has two dogs, Porter and Sailor. She had graduated from Western Carolina University with a B.S. in Health Education, and is in the process of applying to veterinary school. Her hobbies are going to the beach and watching Netflix. She has been to Africa for the past two summers doing mission work, and is working toward going to the Bahamas this year to help rebuild homes, businesses, and schools for those affected by Hurricane Dorian.
Emily
Originally from Greensboro, she is an alumni of Appalachian State University, and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Commercial Tourism and Nutrition. She has two pets, a golden retriever named Jenny and a cat named Penny. In her free time, she enjoys taking Jenny to the beach and going for runs.
Michelle
Michelle grew up in Atlanta, but moved here from New Mexico and has lived in various other states. Her and her husband, Martin, are joined by their fur babies - two dogs, a cat, and three canaries. She enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her family in her down time.
Carrie
Carrie, a Sussex, NJ resident for over 34 years, now resides in Longs, SC with her husband, three children, and two dogs. They accomplished this big move two years ago following her husband's dream of becoming a Myrtle Beach Fireman. Having over 12 years experience as a Veterinary Technician, her love and compassion for her job keeps growing. Carrie enjoys spending quality time with her family and spending long days at the beach.
